The CEA welcomes the passage of the Companies (Corporate Governance, Enforcement and Regulatory Provisions) Bill 2024 through both Houses of the Oireachtas today, 6 November 2024. The Bill will be signed into law by the President in due course. The Bill enhances the provisions of the Companies Act 2014 in the areas of governance, administration, insolvency, enforcement, and supervision.
Such enhancements include amendments to the SCARP process for small and micro companies, the extension of the list of competent State bodies with which the CEA can share information, and creation of the offence of interfering with or impeding an officer of the CEA.
