Director of Legal & Advocacy (Principal Officer)
The Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA) is seeking to appoint a Director of Legal & Advocacy to play a key leadership role in supporting the delivery of its statutory enforcement functions. Reporting to a Member of the Authority, the successful candidate be assigned to the Insolvency Supervision, Civil Enforcement & Advocacy Division.
The CEA also has a second legal post at Director level (i.e., Director of Legal), with the holder of that position being assigned to the Criminal Investigation & Digital Analytics Division. Each Director has a team of legal professionals and support staff reporting to them. While the division of responsibilities between the two Directors is broadly along civil/criminal lines, the CEA is a relatively new organisation that is continuing to grow and evolve and, accordingly, flexibility is required, as is the desirability that the two Legal Directors can, as required, cover aspects of each other’s areas of responsibility. Both Directors are therefore expected to be capable of undertaking civil and criminal work.
In addition, both Directors will, as required, provide advisory and other legal services to the Authority, as well as to the Chairperson, who has statutory responsibility for the management and control of the CEA’s staff, administration, and business.
